NEWS// Jack Robert Hardman: Famous MP3

When a song title like 'Famous' appears, you'd be forgiven for assuming the track sounds like The Pussycat Dolls' 'When I Grow Up', or similar to an over-produced Ke$ha number. I feared exposure of equal intensity, arrogant, selfless and absent human warmth. However Jack Robert Hardman delivered an altogether different experience. His debut single, taken from an eponymous record, is set to drop via Pleasant Pursuits / Essential Music the 23rd of January, and simply rocks. Blissed out, chilled out and everything in between, 'Famous' is steadfast in its resolve, uncertain on the inside, the sensitivity seeping and flowing from every beautiful word. This isn't a demand. It's a wish, pleading and praying with tired eyes, struggling with the thought of giving up on its dream. The vocals are whimsical, wistful in a quiet child-like confidence. Simple acoustic guitars highlight the desire to be remembered, and nothing more. It's a short-lived number, but an absolute gem of a pop song. Stream it up above and wait for it to be released as January next year draws to chilly, hopeful finish!
